TRACK1と2がPosiesのKen Stringfellowのプロデュースってことで何の情報もなく仕入れたワシントン出身のパワーポップバンドLoserのアルバム。なんと1998年の作品！！オフィシャルサイトも、Myspaceも、もー何にもありません。LOST MUSICからのリリースとありますがおそらく自主でしょう。彼らもまたインディーパワーポップの礎となっていったのです。ビートルズやチープトリックといったバンドが培ってきた永遠のポップネスが根っこにあることが前提としてそこに響くThe Posies印。音を聴けばすぐに納得していただけるあなただけの1枚になってくれれば。

"Some call their sound Power Pop, others say it is Pop with Power. Like the Midnight Sun, these five Swedish lads will keep you up nights as you try to whack the melodies out of your head. The members of Dorian Gray have, until recently, been a well kept secret outside Sweden. However, ...the band is dangerously close to breaking out of their native land into new territories. The bands' songwriting is influenced by harmony, melody and powerful guitar oozing hooks and chugging chord changes." (Art Herman, San Francisco) DORIAN GRAY is a band from a small village in Sweden called Hälleforsnäs. The band has been around since the beginning of the 90s. The newest member is Fredrik Mattson who joined the band during 2004. The line up is: Torben Freytag - singer, John Freytag - guitar & backing vocals, Lars Carlsson - guitar & backing vocals, Fredrik Mattsson - bass & backing vocals, and Tero Larsson - drums. The band's name (as many already might have guessed) is taken from the Oscar Wilde novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray. "The music of Dorian Gray is a pure pop adrenaline buzz until it becames obvious that this is not brainless generic pop from Sweden. Dorian Gray excels at painting the prettiest of melodies but they don't paint the prettiest of pictures. Each song is a vignette of despair, hope and longing, maqueraded as a gorgeous pop song. The humdrum of everyday life never sounded so sweet." The band will supporting their new album, Hazel Grove 07:46, which was released late 2006 with appearences in Scandinavia, followed by a Spring tour of Europe and the Baltic countries.
