POPIUM "The Miniature Mile"
2007(KONG TIKI) ¥2,000(taxin)
Brainpool, This Perfect Day、Favorita(Beagle)なんかの北欧サウンドラブな人は当然、TFCやBlurファンもマストなグッド・アルバム。懐かしく、かといって全く古くさくない普遍的な音楽がここにはある

BIOGRAPHY
Whatever happened to feel-good melodic pop - the kind that helps you through tough times and puts a smile on your face, songs that made you want to sing along to a memorable chorus or just plain put you in a good mood ? Norway's Popium seems to have found this well hidden fountain. The press are describing their sound as "sun-drenched brilliantly atmospheric pop" and "like getting a big bear hug from an old friend". Popium have carried on the traditions of their heroes, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Nick Lowe, T-Rex and Elvis Costello to name a few. The songs on their new album "The Miniature Mile" range in sound from 70's glam rock to Americana Twang, 80's new wave and hints of alt-country ("Some Other Day"), all wrapped up in rich textures of both summer happiness ("Happy To The Core") and dark melancholy "(How to Come Up From Going Under"). What else would one expect from a Scandinavian pop band ? Siren Kimme at Score! Music Magazine may have invented a new word when she reviewed the album and called it "popaliciously" enjoyable.
